The Minnesota State High School League announced that a limited number of spectators will be permitted to the Girl's State Basketball Tournament starting Friday due to Coronavirus concerns.

According to John Millea of the Minnesota State High School League, due to coronavirus concerns, a limited number of spectators will be permitted at the girl's state basketball tournament and the adapted floor hockey tournaments on Friday and Saturday and the remaining Section Boys Basketball games.

There will also be no consolation-bracket basketball for Girl's State Basketball or Floor Hockey Games on Friday and Saturday. There has been no official statement on the Boys State Basketball tournament that is scheduled for next week.

We still plan to broadcast the Fillmore Central vs. Henning State Quarterfinal game on 103.1 KFIL, along with any other Fillmore Central games that follow.

We will also still broadcast the Section 1AA Final between Caledonia and Stewartville on 103.1 KFIL.

According to Region 1A Secretary Brad Johnson, everything is an all go for the Section 1A and 1AA finals at the Mayo Civic Center. There will not be a limit on spectators and all are welcomed to attend the game.

If you can't make the section finals tonight, you will be able to hear the broadcast of the Section 1A Final between Hayfield and Blooming Prairie, you can listen to the game on Kat Kountry 105 or The Mighty 920 KDHL.

The MSHSL also wants to remind spectators and all-tournament attendees to follow the recommendations regarding personal hygiene and avoidance of contact with anyone who is experiencing respiratory complications or a fever.

"It is critical that all attendees at tournaments follow the recommendations regarding personal hygiene and avoidance of contact with anyone who is experiencing respiratory complications or fever. Any potential attendee who does not feel well, participant or fan, is expected to refrain from attending tournaments."

If you want to follow along with the state tournament, you can follow along on these Twitter accounts: @mshsl, @MSHSLjohn, Facebook @mshsl.org, and Instagram @mshsl1.

The MSHSL also noted that things are changing by the day and even by the hour.
