Police Locate Car Used in Latest Rochester Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police have found the car connected to the most recent shooting in the city but are still looking for suspects.
Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says a car and house were hit by bullets Tuesday.
He says a car driven by a 21-year-old woman was in the 1200 block of Turnberry Dr SE around 4:00 PM when another vehicle pulled alongside and shots rang out. The woman stopped and a 21-year-old male passenger got out and ran. Moilanen says a man in the other vehicle continued firing. The vehicle then drove away.
Moilanen says there were several people in the residential neighborhood who witnessed the shooting.
He says at least 6 shots were fired. No injuries were reported. The vehicle the gunman was in was later located abandoned in a rural area of the county.
Moilanen says the incident is a “very active and fluid investigation” and at this point, there is no known motive and it does not appear to have been a random shooting.
The shooting comes as investigators continue looking for suspects in last week’s shooting in the parking lot of the southeast KFC store that injured two teenagers
