The snow created challenging driving conditions and public safety officials were busy all day dealing with traffic mishaps. The Minnesota State Patrol reported nearly 350 crashes between 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM with 34 injuries. There were also 345 vehicle spinouts and 17 jackknifed semi-trucks.

The State Patrol tweeted this message during the snowstorm:
“Snow doesn’t cause crashes. Poor driving decisions cause crashes.”
