Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  It didn’t take Rochester police very long to catch a suspected burglar.

About two hours after a downtown burglary was reported Tuesday morning, a suspect was arrested.

The burglary occurred in the construction area at Hotel Indigo sometime between 3:30 PM Monday and 7:00 AM Tuesday when it was discovered. Reported missing were two laptops, an iPad and another piece of electronic equipment. The items were valued at $6,000.

Video from a surveillance camera showed two men and a woman enter and leave the construction area. The video was given to patrol officers and one of the burglars was spotted near the library around 9:30 AM Tuesday. He admitted entering the construction area of the nearby hotel but told the officer he did not steal anything. But a search of his backpack turned up one of the missing laptops and a crowbar.

Arrested was 32-year-old Andrew Olson. He gave a Winona address but police suspect he is homeless.
