Police Captain Casey Moilanen says officers responded to a threat call at a residence in the 2,000 block of High Top Place Northeast shortly before 6 p.m. Moilanen says 22-year-old Sean OGrady was threatening his parents to the point where they feared for their safety.

OGrady then allegedly verbally threatened responding officers and continued threats towards his parents. Moilanen says officers put OGrady’s parents upstairs and kept him downstairs with an officer stationed at the bottom steps. That’s when OGrady allegedly pushed the officer at the bottom of the stairs to try and get to his parents.

The pushed officer and another officer attempted to apprehend OGrady but he resisted and scratched an officer in face which drew blood and damaged the officer’s contact, Moilanen said. Police then used a taser on OGrady which helped officers bring him into custody.

OGrady was evaluated by a Mayo Clinic Ambulance crew and was determined to be uninjured. He was brought to the Olmsted County jail. He is being referred to the Olmsted County Attorney for 4th-degree assault of a police officer, domestic assault and obstructing the legal process.
