Rochester Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Young Girl
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young girl over a period of several weeks. And prosecutors have already filed a motion to seek a tough sentence if he is convicted.
The criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court charges 37-year-old Mark Mitchell with two counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim is under the age of 13. The complaint says the abuse began in December and continued until police were contacted earlier this month.
Mitchell was arraigned last week and his conditional bail was set at $10,000. Prosecutors are requesting a higher amount.
Their motion for a longer-than-recommended sentence is based on the alleged multiple assaults of the girl.
