Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was arrested earlier this year on charges of physically and sexually assaulting a woman has been sentenced to prison.

Sentenced to 3 years Tuesday was 42-year-old James Bailey. The incident took place last December.

Bailey pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault. A charge of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed.

When interviewed about the assault, the woman told an investigator Bailey “has been assaulting her on a regular basis since summer of 2019.” She said, “Bailey has broken her nose and given her at least two black eyes.” During the interview, the investigator “observed many significant bruises all up and down Victim’s arms.”

The woman told the investigator the sexual assault took place in a vehicle after she blacked out during the assault.

Court records show Bailey has a history of domestic assault cases dating back to 1998.
