Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An elderly woman who wandered away from a Rochester assisted living center early Monday was later found without a pulse in a southwest neighborhood.

Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says 84-year-old Marian Keefe was seen on surveillance video leaving a unit at Shorewood Commons just after 2:30 AM. A homeowner several blocks away in the 300 block of Highland Ct SW found Keefe near his garage around 7:45 AM and called 911. She was taken to St Marys Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Moilanen says it appears she died from hypothermia. Keefe was wearing a jacket but temperatures were around 20 degrees Monday morning.

Moilanen says staff found Keefe in the lobby of her building around 2:00 AM and helped her back to her room. Moilanen says Keefe reportedly had been dealing with recent memory issues but was not living in a memory care unit.

Correction: Rochester Police originally identified the woman as "92-year-old Marion Keith" and have since issued a correction. The story has been updated with the woman's correct name and age, Marian Keefe, 84
