Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Another rain record for Rochester.

The city’s official rainfall total at the airport on Saturday was 1.38 inches, breaking the previous record that stood for more than 100 years (1.05” - 1913).  A record was also set last Tuesday.

Rochester's year-to-date precipitation total now stands at almost 49 inches, which is nearly 21 inches above average.

The city has received nearly a foot of rain since Sept. 1st and it looks like there will be more later this week - and snow?

Weather forecasters are watching an approaching system that could produce the first snow of the season for Rochester Friday night/Saturday. At this point, it's not known how much snow it could drop on the area.  It also appears Rochester could experience its first frost of the season Saturday morning.
