Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has been sentenced for a sex-related crime involving a boy under the age of 13-years-old.

A judge has given 32-year-old Amanda Diaz a stayed 36-month prison sentence and placed the woman on probation for up to 25 years. She was also sentenced to 120 days in jail and fined $1,000.

Diaz pleaded guilty in October to a 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.  Diaz entered what is known as a Norgaard plea, which means she admits guilt but does not remember her actions because of intoxication. One count of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct and a burglary charge were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

She was charged with entering an apartment in the early hours of New Year's Day 2019 and molesting the boy. The criminal complaint says the boy told his mother what had happened when she returned home later that night. The mother's boyfriend was in the apartment but was sleeping when the crime occurred.
