Will he join the New York Jets, re-sign with Minnesota, or end up elsewhere when the new league year begins?

Since the 2010 season when he was invited onto the practice squad as an undrafted free agent, Marcus Sherels has made it a habit of proving people wrong and making the 53 man roster. Every season.

Well, this year he might not have to fight to get on the Vikings roster at all, because on Thursday he was making a visit to the Big Apple to see if his services were needed at MetLife Stadium instead.

The New York Jets recently released their primary punt returner and are in need of a replacement ASAP.

Sherels has been a local fan favorite to watch on Sundays, as he's been the Vikings specialist on punt returns since he's joined the team.  He also owns the team record with three punts returned for touchdowns.

If Marcus does, indeed, join the Jets, he'll at least have former Gopher and Minnesota native Eric Decker to show him around New York!

While it would be sad to see Marcus leave the Vikings, deep down he knows his home town of Rochester backs his decision, no matter what colors #35 wears on Sunday.

We at Townsquare Media certainly respect all he's done for his Alma mater John Marshall, and are thankful for his contributions for our Football Friday last season!

GOOD LUCK MARCUS!
