Sad News Announced by 2 Seasonal Businesses in Rochester
Mother Nature has had some good days and bad days lately in Southeast Minnesota. Unfortunately, some of those bad days included colder than normal temps, lots of rain, and we've had quite a bit of hail too. Unfortunately, the weather has been a frustration for some seasonal businesses in our area, and two just announced that they are closed for the season.

On a good year, when Mother Nature is giving all the right temperatures and mix of sun and rain, strawberries in Southeast Minnesota can be picked until early July. Sadly, we are seeing our strawberries fields suffer this year due to a huge array of weather. The strawberry farm at Sekaap Orchard is one of those.

Firefly Berries also shared the disappointing news that there aren't enough berries to continue this season.
Unfortunately, we will NOT be open for you pick strawberries on Thursday, June 30th as we originally hoped. There just aren't enough berries out in the field anymore for us to be open.
