Salvation Army reports new fundraising record

The Rochester Salvation Army is reporting another holiday-related fundraising record. The charitable organization says

its Christmas campaign that ran from October through December raised nearly $1.1 million - $58,000 more than the record set last year. The Salvation Army earlier reported the Red Kettle portion of the campaign set a record with donations totaling over $434,000.

The 2013 chair of the drive gives a lot of credit to a statewide anonymous donor match. Al Mannino also says several local businesses and individuals offered critical matches in the final days of the Kettle Drive
