Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Traffic was routed away from a section of a busy northwest Rochester roadway late Wednesday afternoon following what appears to have been a serious injury crash.

Preliminary reports indicate a passenger car and a commercial truck collided on Valleyhigh Drive at an intersection north of 19th Street Northwest shortly around 4:20 PM. Emergency response radio transmissions indicated there were two people in the car and Rochester firefighters had to extricate one of them from the wreckage. The radio transmissions also described the injuries suffered by at least one of the crash victims as severe.

Rochester Police were at the scene for more than an hour. Additional information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
