Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Just days ahead of the scheduled start of his trial this morning, a St. Charles man entered into a plea agreement Friday in a child sex abuse case.

30-year-old Sean Eckoldt admitted to a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in exchange for the dismissal of two other counts of the same charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 1st.

Eckoldt was accused of sexually abusing a young girl over a period of three years beginning when the victim was 6-years-old. The criminal complaint says the incidents of abuse occurred at residences in Rochester and in Marion Township.

Court records show Eckoldt was on probation for a previous child sex abuse conviction when the charges included in the plea agreement were filed against him 2 years ago. In the previous case, he admitted to sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl in 2013.
