St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is reporting that a Preston woman triggered a deadly chain-reaction crash in St. Paul yesterday.

A preliminary report indicates the crash occurred around 12:30 PM as 20-year-old Megan Severson was driving north on Highway 52 in the left lane and collided with another car when she attempted to merge into the right lane. The second car then crashed into the back of a third car, causing it to collide with an SUV. The State Patrol says Severson suffered minor injuries but a passenger in the second vehicle was killed.

He was identified as 33-year-old Anthony Kawino of Burnsville. Four other people were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
