Mandatory filings with the Secretary of State’s Office indicate voters will be heading to the ballot box in August to determine which two candidates move on to November’s general election for multiple races in the Rochester area.

RPS issued a statement that says state privacy laws prevent the district from giving reasons why an employee was not chosen for contract renewal.

Earlier this month RPS Superintendent Kent Pekel unveiled his recommendation for a referendum this fall.

It's hoped the new name will attract students statewide.

The suit was filed last fall.

His sweeping recommendations also call for ending districtwide transportation to the school district's six option or choice schools.

The drops have not been dramatic but overall enrollment continues a decline that began with the arrival of the pandemic.
