If you're a Minnesota Wild fan, you now have a chance to help the team make a big decision!

I know, I know - It's opening weekend for NFL training camps, including the Vikings... so why on earth are we talking about the Wild?!

First of all, we do live in the "State of Hockey" do we not?

Secondly, what if I told you that you've got the chance to directly impact your game day experience inside the Xcel Energy Center?

Check this out: The team is actually considering changing their goal song from Joe Satriani’s “Crowd Chant” to Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy!”

The move would be the Wild’s way of continuing to honor the iconic Minnesota music legend.  According to the Star Tribune, the Wild have asked season ticket holders for their input.

If you remember, back in Game 6 of the first-round of last season’s Stanley Cup Playoffs the team briefly made the switch to the song in what was one of several tributes made to Prince, who had died just a few days before the game.

In case you missed it, here is how it sounded:

Not happy with either song at the moment?  That's OK too.  You're also given the option of writing in your own suggestion for the new goal scoring song.

I personally think the current song has run its course, and it's time for a new one.  Also, several other teams around the NHL use it too so this one would be unique to our team, and our team only.

In fact, the site Gone Puck Wild offers up their own five suggestions:

  1. Seek and Destroy” – Metallica
  2. Heroes” – David Bowie or the Wallflowers
  3. Kick Start my Heart” – Motley Crew
  4. The Superman Theme” – John Williams
  5. Pink Slip” – The Unband

Which, if any, do you prefer to hear?
