You know you're having a bad day as a professional sports franchise when your official press release spells the name of your team incorrectly-- but that's what the Minnesota Timberwolves did Wednesday.

Minnesota's own Timberwolves have been in existence for over 30 years now, first joining the National Basketball Association for the 1989-1990 season. And, suffice it to say, it's been a bit of a frustrating franchise, hasn't it? I mean, not only have the Wolves not won an NBA Championship (something the NBA team in my home state of Wisconsin-- the similarly frustrating Milwaukee Bucks-- just did earlier this year), but the team has also only made the playoffs 9 times in its 32 years.

The last time they made an appearance was back in 2018, but you have to go back to 2004 to find the last time the Wolves WON a playoff series. Add in the constant changing of coaches, trading of players, along with front office turmoil over the years, and it only makes sense that they would misspell their own NAME in a press release Wednesday.

The Wolves released a statement explaining that Gersson Rosas, who had been their President of Basketball Operations, was no longer with the team. But in the official press release, which contained only two sentences, the team incorrectly spelled 'Timberwolves' as 'Timberwovles'-- transposing the letters 'v' and 'l'.

Sure, it's just a typo-- something I do all the time, mind you-- but you'd think the official press release from a professional sports organization might have run a quick spell check before they issue a press release, wouldn't you? Check it out below, courtesy of The Athletic's David Aldridge.

Making an error like that in an important document can be annoying, right? It's right up there with running into all red lights on your way into work... which seems to happen a lot here in Rochester. Keep scrolling to check out the Med City's Most Annoying Intersections!
