This Time the Timberwolves Make the Comeback
Chicago, IL (Learfield) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat Chicago in coach Tom Thibodeau's return to the United Center last night, 99-94.
Jimmy Butler tied it 91-91 for the Bulls on a fadeaway jumper with 1:34 left, but Minnesota responded with eight straight points scored by Zach LaVine, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins.
The Timberwolves ended a four-game losing streak for Thibodeau, who coached the Bulls for five seasons before he was fired following the 2014-15 season. Butler led all scorers with 27 points for the Bulls. LaVine had 24 points and Wiggins finished with 23 for Minnesota, which had five players finish in double figures.
