Three Minnesota Resorts Just Named as 10 Best In Midwest
If you're looking to spend time at some of the best resorts in the Midwest, you don't even have to leave Minnesota.
Seeing as Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes (actually, it's 11,482 lakes, but who's counting) it's not a shock that there are also a lot of resorts that are located here, especially up north and along Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior.
So, it also shouldn't be a shock that some of those resorts are really nice. Like, REALLY nice. So nice, in fact, that they've just been named to the 2022 'Best Resorts in the Midwest' list from Travel + Leisure.
Travel + Leisure is a well-known travel site that asks its readers every year to sound off on travel experiences around the globe, including resorts here in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and more. The survey noted that in this survey, resorts were rated on their locations, rooms/facilities, food, service, and overall value.
And in the 2022 survey, Travel + Leisure noted that three Minnesota resorts made the 10 Best in the Midwest list:
As its nickname, 'The Land of 10,000 Lakes,' suggests, Minnesota is a paradise for outdoorsy types, so it's no surprise the state earned three spots on this year's list, including Grand View Lodge Spa & Golf Resort in Nisswa (No. 10), Hotel Landing in Wayzata (No. 5), and Larsmont Cottages on Lake Superior in Two Harbors (the runner-up, at No. 2).
That's a pretty impressive list! I actually spent some time at Grand View Lodge Spa & Golf Resort in Nisswa over the holidays last winter. And while I haven't been there during the summer, it was still a very cool place to visit when it's cold and snowy. We did some snowshoeing, and hiking, and even spent some time one evening enjoying drinks and apps in an igloo-- which was nice and toasty, even though the temperature was below zero outside.
You can check out more from Grand View Lodge Spa & Golf Resort below, and you can read more about the other Minnesota resorts that made the '10 Best in the Midwest' list HERE.
And while we're talking about getting some rest and relaxation in the great outdoors here in the North Star State, if a resort isn't quite your style, maybe you'd like to rent this entire... ISLAND. That's right, you can rent your own island here in Minnesota. Keep scrolling to check out the pictures!
