The Minnesota Twins are back in action tonight at Target Field, hosting the Boston Red Sox.  Ricky Nolasco is scheduled to start for Minnesota which sits at two games under .500 (17-19) after taking two of three from Detroit over the weekend.  Felix Doubrant will pitch for the Sox.

Buehrle gets seventh win

UNDATED (AP) — Mark Buehrle is the majors' first seven-game winner of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays pitcher is 7-1 with a 2.04 ERA after allowing two runs in six innings of a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels. The 35-year-old lefty gave up six hits and five walks but kept the Angels scoreless after Mike Trout's two-run double in the third.

Jose Bautista had three hits, including a three-run homer in the first inning. Brett Lawrie added a two-run blast and Juan Francisco poked a two-run single for the Jays.

Also in the majors:

— Rick Porcello improved to 6-1 by limiting the Orioles to a run and five hits in six innings of Detroit's 4-1 win at Baltimore. The Tigers won it with just five hits, including Ian Kinsler's two-run homer in the eighth.

— Junior Lake crushed a three-run homer and set a career high with six RBIs as the Chicago Cubs embarrassed the Cardinals 17-5 in St. Louis. Anthony Rizzo and Starlin Castro each had three RBIs with help from leadoff hitter Emilio Bonifacio, who was 4-for-5 with five runs scored.

— The New York Mets overcame a pair of three-run deficits by smacking four homers in a 9-7 win over the Yankees in the Bronx. Chris Young hit a tiebreaking, two-run blast in the eighth inning after Curtis Granderson, Travis d'Arnaud and Eric Young Jr. went deep.

— Colby Lewis struck out eight over 5 2/3 shutout innings as Texas beat the Astros 4-0 in Houston. Adrian Beltre put the Rangers ahead with a two-run homer before Rougned Odor added a solo shot and an RBI single.

— Danny Espinosa and pinch-hitter Kevin Frandsen hit solo homers in the top of the ninth to give Washington a 6-5 comeback win at Arizona. Ian Desmond and Tyler Moore also went deep to help the Nationals rebound from a three-game sweep suffered in Oakland over the weekend.

— Jesse Chavez surrendered a pair of solo homers but just three other hits over eight-plus innings as Oakland earned a 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox. The A's scored on Josh Donaldson's two-run homer, Jed Lowrie's two-run double and Josh Reddick's RBI triple.

— Tim Lincecum looked great in San Francisco's 4-2 win over Atlanta, holding the Braves to a run and two hits while fanning 11 over 7 2/3 innings. Tyler Colvin provided most of the Giants' scoring with a solo homer and a tiebreaking, two-run triple.

— Stefen Romero was 3-for-5 with a solo homer, three RBIs and three runs scored as Seattle ripped Tampa Bay 12-5. Robinson Cano, Justin Smoak and Corey Hart each had two RBIs in the Mariners' 13th victory in 18 games.

— The Los Angeles Dodgers rode Yasiel Puig's three-run homer and four RBIs to a 6-5 win over Miami. Dan Haren is 5-1 after giving up three runs and seven hits in seven innings.

Marlins shelve Fernandez...Mets to recall Montero...Angels' Stewart on DL

UNDATED (AP) — The Miami Marlins have put ace right-hander Jose Fernandez on the 15-day disabled list because of a sprained elbow. Last season's NL Rookie of the Year is 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA in eight starts.

Fernandez made 28 starts last year, going 12-6 with a major league-best .182 opponents' batting average. His 2.19 ERA was second in the majors behind three-time defending ERA champ Clayton Kershaw.

— Pitching prospect Rafael Montero is scheduled to make his major league debut for the New York Mets on Wednesday in the Subway Series against the New York Yankees. The team says Jenrry Mejia has been bumped to the bullpen to make room in the rotation for Montero, who was 4-1 with a 3.67 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas.

— The Los Angeles Angels have recalled infielder Luis Jimenez from Triple-A Salt Lake City and placed third baseman Ian Stewart on the 15-day disabled list with a left hand injury. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said right-hander Matt Shoemaker will be recalled from Triple-A and start at Philadelphia Tuesday night, which will necessitate another roster move.
