If you head to a Twins home game on a Friday night this year, you'll notice the home team sporting a new scarlet red alternate uniform.

The Twins Thursday unveiled the new alternate uniform, which will be worn on Friday home games at Target Field throughout the 2016 season.

According to FoxSportsNorth, the new uniforms are heavy on red. The story says, "The new jersey is a red shirt with a TC logo outlined in Kasota gold and comes with red alternate caps. The jersey also features a Minnie & Paul patch outlined in Kasota gold and scarlet red, Kasota gold and navy blue piping along the sleeves and neckline."

While the Twins most recently changed their home uniforms six years ago, back in 2010 when Target Field opened, you'd have to go all the way back to 1997 for the last time they wore an alternate jersey.

The team is set to wear the new alternate home jersey 13 times this upcoming season. And this, of course, means there'll now be one more choice of jersey and cap for us Twins fans to buy, too -- which, I'm guessing, is exactly what the team has in mind.

Here's what the new alternate home uniform looks like...
