Albert Lea, MN (KROC AM News) - Icy conditions and snow may have played a role in two more traffic crashes in Freeborn County.

Both happened Thursday.

The first occurred on I-35 near Clarks Grove around 3:30 pm. The State Patrol says both vehicles were driving south when they “made contact and left the road.” One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was identified as 64-year-old Dan Fischer of St. Paul Park.

The other crash happened around 10:30 pm on I-90 near Albert Lea. The State Patrol says 27-year-old Dale Hayward of Bricelyn was driving west when his vehicle “collided with the guard rail and left the roadway. “ He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident reports described the road conditions as “snow/ice.”

These accidents were among the dozens reported by the State Patrol during Thursday's snow event.
