Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two Rochester teenagers were hurt Wednesday in a walkup shooting near an elementary school.

Rochester Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says the two 16-year-old males were sitting in a car in the parking lot of the southeast KFC store when the gunman walked up and opened fire.

One of the teens was hit in the leg and the other had a graze wound. The two drove off and the one who was hit in the leg was later taken to Olmsted Medical Center to be treated for the non-life threatening injury.

Moilanan says it appears three shots were fired and the shell casings were found at the scene.

Witnesses that included an off-duty police officer saw the gunman flee on foot. Moilanen says he may have gotten into a nearby car that was seen leaving at a fast rate of speed.

The shooting took place around 5:30 PM, right across the street from Lincoln Elementary School.

As of Thursday morning, no arrests had been made.

Moilanen says this incident does not appear to be related to other recent shootings.
