Activity at the Damon Parking ramp located west of the Gonda Building was disrupted this morning

when a car on the 8th level broke through two of the five protective cables and came to a stop with its front end hanging over the side, caught on a structural steel beam.  The incident happened around 8 o’clock on the west side of the ramp, across the street from St. John’s church.  That section of 4th avenue was closed to traffic while firefighters dealt with the incident. A tow truck was used to pull the vehicle back into the ramp about two hours later.  No injuries were reported. The woman driving the car and her husband were able to get out on their own.
