Vikings and Seahawks to Wear Special Underwear on Sunday

Sunday's wild-card game between Minnesota and Seattle will be one of the coldest games in NFL history. It will feel like 20 below at kickoff. WSI is a Minnesota company that will provide both teams with special underwear to help protect them from the bitter cold. You won't notice though because all of their logos will be hidden because of the NFL's contract with Nike.

Both teams will be outfitted in the cold-weather gear which is specifically designed for football players forced to play in frigid conditions.

WSI's performance gear was first used in a wild-card game between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in 2014. The temperature for that game was 5 degrees with a wind chill of minus-10.

The compression attire is designed to remove sweat, provide warmth, block wind, and allow for a full range of movement. Special socks and glove liners will also be available to the players.

The players should be fine but, what about the fans? The Vikings are taking these steps to help protect those in the stands.
