EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have taken three defensive players in the seventh round of the NFL draft: Connecticut defensive tackle Shamar Stephen, Georgia Tech linebacker Brandon Watts and North Carolina cornerback Jabari Price to aid a unit that was one of the league's worst last year.

The Vikings made four trades to net an extra two selections. They spent seven of 10 picks on defense.

After taking UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in the first round Thursday, the Vikings picked Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton and Georgia Southern running back Jerick McKinnon in the third round Friday. Then took Stanford guard David Yankey in the fifth round and Virginia Tech cornerback Antone Exum and Maine cornerback Kendall James in the sixth round Saturday.
