LAS VEGAS -- In the sporting world, we always say to expect the unexpected. That mantra was proven once again in Las Vegas Summer League as the Wolves that started 0-3 have run the table in the Tournament to get a chance at the Championship against the Chicago Bulls, thanks to a 93-83 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

The Wolves were led by Summer League MVP, Tyus Jones who scored 29 points and had six assists that helped him average 19.4 points, 6.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

The Wolves went into the half behind but keyed by Jones' passing, and Adreian Payne's scoring, the Wolves got the comeback victory by winning the second half by 15 points.

In the first half, the Wolves had a one point lead with 1:32 left in the quarter at 17-16, but after that the Suns went on a 7-2 run to take a 23-17 lead into the second quarter.

The Suns continued that run as they scored another five unanswered points to take a 28-19 lead, until Tyus Jones hit two free throws with 8:04 left in the quarter. Then Jones took over the scoring and scoring 13 in the quarter, Jones helped keep the Wolves close, keeping the deficit under 10 going into the second half, with the score 48-43.

In the second half, Adreian Payne took over offensively as he scored 17 of his 18 to help lead the Wolves to victory.

The Wolves were able to win the third quarter as they took a  67-66 lead with 52.9 seconds left, when Jones set up Scott Suggs beyond the arc for the go-ahead three. To get there, Jones score six, Payne scored five, and Suggs hit another three as the Wolves outscored the Suns 24-18 in the quarter.

Payne then went for double digits in points in the fourth. Led by Jones finishing his big performance, and Payne's 12 for the quarter the Wolves went on a 12-3 run over the first four minutes of the ten minute quarter to have a 79-69 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

The Suns made it a six point game with Tyler Ulis' three-pointer, but but two free throws, and an Adreian Payne put-back later, the Wolves had taken a 93-83 victory and worked their way to the Championship.

The Suns, without Devin Booker, Dragan Bender and Marquess Chriss, were led in scoring by Troy Williams with his 24, and Askia Booker with his 19 off the bench.

The Wolves got additional offensive help as Suggs scored 11, and Coty Clarke added 10 off the bench.
