Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A tip given to police by a concerned Texas woman has led to child porn charges against a Rochester man.

Four felony counts of possessing child pornography have been filed against 23-year-old Connor Birkholz.

The woman contacted police in December. The woman said she had online communication with a man who said he was from Rochester.

The woman’s message said the man told her “His job was babysitting children and that he wanted to masturbate in front of them.” According to the criminal complaint, the woman “was very concerned” about what the man had said and decided to notify police.

A police investigator traced the messaging to devices linked to Birkholz. His phone and laptop were searched and several child porn images were found.

According to the complaint, Birkholz “Admitted that he searches for mother-son, mother-daughter, and father-daughter pornography, but did not search explicitly for child pornography. Defendant did admit however, that his age preference was for girls or boys from 12 to 14 years old.”

Birkholz has been ordered to make his first appearance next month.

News update:  The Derek Chauvin jury is expected to hear closing arguments Monday.
