woman who died Friday morning in the Twin Cities in what authorities have described as a police-related shooting were wanted in Rochester

for a recent car theft. The two were involved in a high speed chase with police that ended when the vehicle they were in crashed on a freeway in Eden Prairie. Moments later the two were dead but police haven’t said yet how they died or if they were hit by bullets fired by officers. Four officers were placed on leave while the case is investigated.
Rochester police were contacted by a local automobile dealer January 10th about some missing keys. Police were told a man had taken a vehicle for a test ride. It was later discovered keys to another vehicle were missing. An officer was put on surveillance near the business that evening and saw a man walk to the parking lot and drive off with a car. The officer followed the vehicle to a nearby motel where the man and a woman in his room were arrested. They were identified as Pfister and Serbus.  The two were later released.

Arrest warrants were issued after they failed to show up a required court appearance.
