WARNING: Silent And Deadly Gas May Not Be Detected in Minnesota Homes
About 8,000 safety devices for homes and commercial buildings have been pulled off of store shelves throughout the United States including Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin due to the latest recall that was just announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
8,000 Carbon Monoxide Detectors were Recalled Throughout the United States Including Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin
On March 31st, 2022, about 8,000 Universal Security carbon monoxide detectors were recalled due to failing to detect harmful levels of carbon monoxide. Two reports were made indicating that the product failed to sound the alarm when there was a presence of carbon monoxide. As a result, buildings that are using these detectors are possibly at risk of being exposed to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and possibly death.

According to CPSC.gov, there are two models of the Universal Security Instruments 2-in-1 Photoelectric Smoke & Fire + Carbon Monoxide alarms that are part of this recall.
