Eastern IA Teacher Arrested For Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse

A science teacher at a school in Eastern Iowa has been arrested in Illinois following an investigation that alleges he had sexual contact with a minor in an Illinois town.

The Morrison, Illinois resident and current science teacher at Clinton High School, was arrested on Tuesday morning.

Jason Endress of Morrison, IL is currently being held at the Ogle County Jail in Illinois. He is scheduled to appear in court today (Wednesday).

UPDATE: Clinton Community School District Releases Statement

At 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th, the Clinton Community School District released a statement about Endress' arrest in Illinois. The statement, sent by Lori Kness,
Executive Assistant to the Superintendent reads:

Clinton Community School District has been informed that a Clinton High School teacher was arrested yesterday for aggravated sexual abuse arising out of an incident which allegedly occurred in Ogle County, Illinois approximately twenty years ago. The matter is currently under investigation.

Endress was arrested Tuesday morning for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 1 Felony by the Ogle County Sheriff's Office.

Clinton High School Teacher Arrested For Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse In Illinois

In a social media post on Wednesday, officials from the Ogle County Sheriff's Office said that at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Jason L. Endress, age 44 of Morrison, Illinois, for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 1 Felony.

Officials say the arrest stems from an investigation in which Endress is alleged to have sexual contact with a minor in rural Oregon. Endress was held in the Ogle County Jail without bond and will appear in court today, July 26th.

Endress, who is currently employed as a science teacher at Clinton High School in Clinton, IA for grades 9-12, is still listed in the staff directory. There has been no official statement from Clinton High School or the Clinton Community School District at the time this article was published.

If convicted of a Class 1 Felony in Illinois, a person could be sentenced to jail for 4-15 years and face fines up to $25,000.

The Ogle County Sheriff Detectives say they were assisted by the Illinois State Police Zone 2 Investigations. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
