Sarah Harrelson was arrested on October 31, 2022, on a charge that she and another woman attempted to sell methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in Des Moines. KCRG says that even though Harrelson was arrested on Halloween, the incident with the officer actually happened in February of 2022.

KCCI reports Harrelson plans to plead guilty to the charge. Prosecutors are recommending that she receive a 10-year suspended sentence with probation.

Sarah's son, Xavier Harrelson, was just 10 years old when he disappeared in Montezuma, Iowa on May 27, 2021. Just over four months later, Xavier's remains were found by a farmer in a field approximately three miles northwest of Montezuma.

On October 15, 2021, the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the remains were those of Xavier Harrelson. His cause of death was not revealed. Xavier's death was ruled suspicious. Other than the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation asking anyone with any information at all to contact them, no new information has been released in his case.
