Hastings Teenager Seriously Hurt in High Speed Wreck
Hastings, MN ( KROC AM News) - A teenager was seriously injured when the car she was in rolled at high speed in rural Dakota County.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a Dakota County deputy clocked the car at 86 mph in a 60 zone on Highway 61 around 4:00 PM Monday.
The State Patrol says as the deputy began pursuing the vehicle, the driver tried to pass a semi-truck and a car. The pursued driver swerved when he met an oncoming car at the top of a hill and lost control. The State Patrol says his car then “rolled multiple times in the ditch.”
The driver of the speeding car was identified as 26-year-old Joseph Strickland of Cannon Falls. He suffered non-life threatening injuries, as did two passengers. But a third passenger - 17-year-old Rebecca Perry of Hastings - suffered life-threatening injuries.
