Illinois Postal Carrier Arrest For Stealing Mail
An Elmhurst postal carrier was arrested this week in connection with stealing checks from businesses and residents on his route, authorities said Wednesday.
Keevon Dockery, 22, of Chicago, was charged with five counts of identity theft and one count of aggravated identity theft. All charges are felonies.
The local police followed the suspect. They witnessed him take off from work and dumps mail at a nearby park. After his shift, they pulled him over—he had about $20,000 worth of stolen checks. With further investigation, they figured out he had taken 117 checks totaling $40,000.
Think about all those poor kids that didn't get their birthday cards and checks from grandma.
