It hasn't been a very snowy start to the winter here in the upper Midwest, but that doesn't mean snow isn't just around the corner. It's easy to forget that just four years ago we were all snowed in with over 2 feet of snow by this time of the year. Do you remember the Thanksgiving snow dump of 2019? Some people couldn't get out of their driveways for a week!

It was so bad that year that you couldn't even get a pizza delivered because the streets were so covered in snow, and let's face it. Most pizza delivery drivers don't drive big 4-wheel drive vehicles. The gas alone would cut into the tips!

Domino's Pizza has come out with a unique campaign that succeeded in getting our attention. They call it "Domino's Plowing For Pizza." Here's how it works.

Domino's is giving away half a million dollars across 20 towns this winter that are in need of plowing assistance. Why? Because cold roads shouldn't get in the way of hot pizza.

You can go online and nominate your town by entering the zip code and providing your e-mail address.

They even provide updates on what last year's grants were used for from several towns.

  • Manhattan, Montana received a snow plow attachment from buyer products, purchased a new pickup for use as a dedicated plow truck, and also purchased a UTV for plowing city sidewalks.
  • Erie, Pennsylvania used the grant money to buy 462 tons of salt to help with roadways!
  • Marquette, Michigan purchased new underbody blades for its fleet of snowplows.

You have until January 21, 2024, to nominate your town, or when all the funds have been claimed. To nominate, you must be at least 13 years old. Minors should have their parental consent to participate. There's a limit to one nomination per person, per e-mail address.
