When the weather starts to get warm, and most of the snow has melted away, and we are still in the early part of March, people tend to get some cabin fever and want Spring into Summer as soon as possible.  After how long winters can be in this part of the country, even people who love winter, and definitely like the change of seasons, Winter tends to be the greedy one.  It usually starts before it's supposed to, and also extends far beyond it's limits - or where the limits should be.

WE HAD JUST ABOUT EVERY SEASON DURING THE WINTER MONTHS

This year, we had a bunch of snow in the beginning and very cold temps for quite awhile.  Longer than what usually happens, and now, we are getting a little spoiled with the warmer weather.  That is about to change.

CAN YOU GET SICK FROM THE ROLLER COASTER CHANGE OF TEMPERATURES

There is an old adage that when the weather changes often, and it goes from warm to cool, snow, rain and whatever else Mother Nature decides to throw at us, that it's easier to make people sick.  Simply because of the weather changes.

Well, it's SORT OF true.  But it's actually not the weather that makes you sick.  It's a virus, and the weather doesn't carry the virus.  HOWEVER, the changes in weather/climate often does put a strain on your immune system which makes a person more suseptable to catching a virus, and therefore making you sick.  So it's not the weather, directly, but it's because of the weather.  Clear as mud, right?

From the Cleveland Clinic:

Frequent temperature shifts stress your immune system, while cold, dry air dries out nasal passages, making it easier for viruses to enter. These changes often increase allergies, cause joint pain, and drive people indoors, increasing exposure to germs.

Try and enjoy the weather whatever you are doing, and whatever the weather is that you prefer.  Just make sure to eat healthy, and dress for the temperatures.  Might be winter in the morning and spring/summer in the afternoon.  That's just Minnesota.
