Former Border Patrol Agent from Minnesota Admits to Federal Child Porn Possession Charge
52-year-old Anthony John Crowley pleaded guilty to Possession of Child Pornography. Court documents indicate he was connected to an account on the messaging act Kik that was uploading child pornography.
The Minnesota BCA received the tip in 2022 and searched Crowley’s home in Minnetonka.
Investigators seized multiple electronic devices and located “numerous child pornography images and what are known as ‘child erotica’ stories,” the news release says.
“As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, Crowley was in a position of public trust. To betray that trust by possessing child sexual abuse material is an egregious perversion of the honor, integrity, and lawfulness that should exemplify federal agents,” said Special Agent in Charge Alvin M. Winston Sr. of FBI Minneapolis.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Crowley was put on indefinite suspension following his arrest in the case. He is being held pending sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled.
