
Rochester Man Captured After Fleeing Deputies, Running Into Zumbro River
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is in custody after fleeing law enforcement by vehicle then on foot.

That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin.
He said the incident began shortly before 4 p.m. with an attempted traffic stop for traffic violations. It ended with the suspect running into the Zumbro River in rural southwest Rochester.

Parkin says the attempted traffic stop occurred in the area of 45th Ave. and Country Club Rd. SW.
Deputies pursued the vehicle south for a short distance until the suspect stopped, Parkin said.
Fleeing Suspect Captured After Running into Zumbro River
The motorist then got out of his vehicle and fled on foot into the Zumbro River. He was then detained, the sheriff’s office indicates.
Parkin identified the fleeing suspect as 28-year-old Aries Candler of Rochester.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Candler was booked into the Olmsted County Jail shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Parkin says Candler could face charges for Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Fleeing on Foot.
