Rochester Police Undercover Operation Leads to Child Solicitation Charges Against Minnesota Man

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester undercover child sex solicitation operation has led to charges against a Minnesota man.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court Thursday morning.
The court document says the 10-week sting culminated with the arrest of the suspect during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Charges: Cottage Grove Man Sent Sexually Explicit Messages to Rochester Officer Posing as 14-Year-Old Girl
42-year-old Jeremy Roger Stroth is charged with soliciting, engaging with and distributing electronic communication relating to or describing sexual conduct with a child.
The complaint alleges he sent a message to a profile depicting a 14-year-old user, that was being run by an undercover Rochester police officer, in May.
After the officer told Stroth they were a 14-year-old girl, the Cottage Grove man immediately inquired about the fake girl’s sexual history, the complaint says.
From Mid-May until the day of his arrest, Stroth would send the fake teen sexually-explicit messages on an almost daily basis, the court document alleges.

Stroth at one point sent a sexually explicit photo of himself and said he would “not say no” if the fake teenage girl sent a sexually explicit photo of herself, the charges say.
Law enforcement apprehended Stroth during a traffic stop in Cottage Grove. He was released without bail following his first court appearance Thursday. Stroth is due back in court in September.
