The International Women's Baseball Center (IWBC) is partnering with the Chicago White Sox to spotlight women's baseball during the "Gameday for the Girls" promotion at Rate Field.

A Major League Platform for a Growing Mission

The White Sox will host the Seattle Mariners at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, with specially priced tickets available through a dedicated link that directly supports IWBC programming.

The promotion offers more than a night at the ballpark; it also serves as a fundraising and awareness campaign tied to the nonprofit's expanding global footprint.

Rockford's Role in a Global Baseball Surge

Based in Rockford, IWBC is positioning 2026 as a landmark year. The organization is preparing to host the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage from July 22 to 26, bringing elite international competition to the region.

Powerhouse programs like Japan, winner of seven consecutive titles, and Team USA are expected to headline a field that underscores the sport's rapid global growth.

At the same time, IWBC is finalizing Phase One renovations of historic Beyer Stadium at Maybelle Blair Park. The $4.25 million project includes a professional-grade field, new lighting, expanded seating, and a women's baseball gallery, which will transform the venue into a hub for both community and international events.

Beyond The Game: Building Opportunity

IWBC leaders say the White Sox partnership reflects a broader strategy to elevate women's sports through visibility and access. Since 2014, the organization has hosted free youth camps, leagues, and global events aimed at creating pathways for girls in baseball.

Fans attending the "Gameday for the Girls" will also experience themed activations, including women-owned business showcases and pregame events, while the first 15,000 attendees receive a commemorative jacket.
