Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - I-90 motorist will be detoured 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for two successive nights on May 10th and May 11th while construction crews place the Highway 63 southbound bridge beams over the highway.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, during the I-90 detour, westbound motorists will exit I-90 at Highway 63 northbound (Exit 209), proceed north to the Highway 30 west exit at the Rochester Internation Airport, return to Highway 63 going southbound, and follow to I-90 where it rejoins the highway.

Eastbound motorists will exit I-90 at High Forset (Exit 205), follow Olmsted county Road 6 east into Stewartville, then north on Highway 63 to connect again with I-90.

During the two-year construction project, both Highway 63 bridges will be replaced, Highway 30 west rerouted, some I-90 exit ramps will be added or realigned and the access to 90th Street SE will be closed and rerouted.

Nighttime Highway 52 Lane Closures Planned in Rochester Beginning May 9 for Bridge Cleaning

Highway 52 motorists in Rochester will notice overnight lane closures during the week of May 9th as crews clean bridges.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for four nights, May 9th and May 11th to May 13th. During that work, sand and other material that accumulated during winter are swept up before crews use fresh water in high-pressure pumps to spray down the gutter lines and joints.

Motorists can expect periodic traffic delays with lane closures. Flaggers directing traffic will be in some of the areas and there will be short-term ramp closures in the Civic Center Drive area.

MnDOT says work will take place on Highway 52 from Highway 63 south to 55th Street Northwest, as well as on Highway 63 south north of 40th Street and on Olmsted County Road 22 over Hwy 14 west. T

The work includes bridges over Hwy 52 – 55th Street Northwest, 41st Street Northwest, 37th Street Northwest, 19th Street Northwest, 2nd Street Southwest, and 6th Street Southwest, Highway 14 east and 16th Street Southwest so there will be lane restrictions on these roadways over Highway 52 as well.
