Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) - The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a building in Red Wing Wednesday wasn’t hurt but was arrested.

Patrol officers responding to a call around 10:00 PM saw a vehicle drive past them in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed. They turned around and went after the vehicle and moments later spotted it - sitting in a pile of rubble at Liberty’s Restaurant.

The driver was apprehended and taken to jail.

As a precaution, tenants were evacuated from the building and relocated for the night. Roads in the area were closed until the debris could be removed and a structural engineer could check the integrity of the building.
