Call me crazy but I find renovations of early 1900's homes into modern places to stay fascinating. Using creativity to keep the original era of the home while also modernizing it is no easy task. That's a pretty good description of Hannibal's Quarry House which was built in 1902, but has been renovated into a modern Airbnb option.

Laurel and her husband Charlie host this neat Hannibal space. According to their Airbnb listing, the home began its existence in 1902. You can tell they've put a ton of work into this home as it now can accommodate up to 10 guests. Here's a snippet of how they describe what they've done to this home:

The Quarry House is a completely renovated house that was originally built in 1902. The floors and staircases are original and were stripped down to their crowning glory. Close attention was paid to the lighting so guests can have as much that is useful. The pallet walls were designed to add a depth of style and are very unique. Located on the 2nd floor, there are four suites each with private baths.

The work on the floors, walls and stairs is impressive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think they struck a great balance of keeping the original style of the early 1900's home while also making it modern and comfortable.

It's not inexpensive, but for a space this big, that's not a surprise. The Airbnb listing says the nightly cost is $560 per night. So far, those that have stayed there seem to love it as the reviews average a perfect 5 out of 5.

There are lots more pictures and details you can see on the full Airbnb listing. Love sharing unique Hannibal spaces like this one.
