FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Mike Pelfrey pitched two scoreless innings in his spring debut after a poor season, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Boston Red Sox 8-2 Friday.

Pelfrey allowed one hit. The Twins starter went 5-13 with a 5.19 ERA last year.

Mike Napoli got two hits for Boston. David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia each went 0 for 2.

Twins leadoff hitter Alex Presley, vying to be the starting center fielder, went 0 for 3.

Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller walked three batters in the fifth inning and all of them scored. Minnesota got three runs in the fourth after three singles off Cuban right-hander Dalier Hinojosa.

The two teams play again Saturday afternoon, and the Twins will face Tampa Bay on Sunday in a game that will be broadcast on KROC-AM.
