Wisconsin Couple Claims Powerball Jackpot Worth Over $316 Million

Madison, Wis. (KROC-AM News) - A Wisconsin couple claimed their $316.3 million Powerball Jackpot Monday.

Tammy and Cliff Webster of Oneida claimed the jackpot-winning ticket that was sold by Jackson Pointe Citgo in Green Bay earlier this year.

The Wisconsin State Lottery reported the Websters, who are members of the Oneida Nation, opted to take the cash option of $225.1 million, rather than the annual payments. After federal and state taxes, their final take-home amount is $153.9 million.

“We are sincerely grateful for this incredible event,” Tammy Webster said to the lottery. “We always believed that we had a chance to win if we played and this is a dream come true.”

Cliff agreed and expressed his deep appreciation for what he called “a blessing.”

The couple split the $632.6 million jackpot with another winner who bought a ticket in California. The jackpot was the seventh-largest in Powerball history.

The Jackson Pointe Citgo in Green Bay was paid a $100,000 incentive for selling the winning ticket, and Wisconsin has now had 19 Powerball jackpot wins. That puts Wisconsin fourth on the list of most frequent winning Powerball states.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
