Two people learned a very valuable lesson a few days ago when a fellow Wisconsinite decided to take matters into his own hands. Lesson learned: don't steal someone's snowblower.

There have been some strange crimes making headlines lately, in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. A recent example comes from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where a couple was charged for pulling a fire alarm. This may not sound that crazy but it happened while they were getting intimate. Yikes.

Another example comes from Superior, where some jerk stole a trailer from a local business. Benson Electric shared some photos online in hopes someone could recognize the vehicle in the photos or come forward with some information.

As for Minnesota, it looks like some scams are circulating statewide. Several different cities reported some sort of scam with people posing as someone from a utility company. The scams vary and usually end the same way: a scammer getting your personal or banking information.

The latest strange story comes courtesy of Wisconsin. This time, the headlines come out of Madison, which is about a five hour drive from Duluth. News outlets reported on the story, which is strange from start to finish.

According to reports, a man and a woman stole a snow blower out of someone's garage earlier this month. The report states they stole it around 10:30 p.m. and unlucky for them, the person they were stealing from saw the entire thing.

After the couple took off with the snow blower, the man got in his truck and started to follow them. Unfortunately, he had been the victim of a burglary recently so this was his second time being burgled in a short period of time.

So what happened after the man got in his truck and started following the couple? It all ended in him running into the pair with his truck. After ramming into the couple's car, they were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, the injuries were not life-threatening.

I understand wanting to follow the couple and get a license plate number for the police but obviously, driving into their car to get them to stop or "pay" for what they did is not the way to handle the situation. It is not known if the man's garage was wide open or if they broke through a lock.

Both the burglars and the man they stole from will be charged or have been charged. Who would have thought a snowblower would cause all of this trouble?

In other strange crime-related news, Duluth was recently at the center of a plot line on a new spin-off. There is now an NCIS spin-off that takes place in Hawaii and Duluth was at the center of a storyline on a recent episode.

The episode is the eighth of the first season and is titled Legacy. You have to love how Minnesotans and Minnesota is portrayed on television shows, right?
