Menominee, WI (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in western Wisconsin arrested an Owatonna man and a St. Paul man following a chase that reached speeds of 125 mph.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office says the incident began as a theft-in progress around 3:40 Wednesday morning in Menominee. Police officers conveyed the suspect vehicle’s description to the Dunn County deputies, who attempted to stop the vehicle as it fled south out of Menominee.

A news release says the Dunn County deputy terminated the pursuit after losing the vehicle at the Pierce-Pepin County line south of Menominee. The vehicle was then spotted by the Wisconsin State Patrol southwest of Menominee and another pursuit began. 

That chase ended when the vehicle crashed near the interchange with Hwy. 128 and Interstate 94 west of Menominee. Troopers arrested the suspects who were not hurt in the crash. The Owantonna man was identified as 45-year-old Neng Yang and the St. Paul man was identified as 49-year-old Chue Neng Xiong. 

The news release does not indicate who was driving the vehicle. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office says the men are expected to face charges for theft of major vehicle parts, possession of burglarious Tools, receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, flee/elude officer, and several traffic charges.
