Rochester Man Caught With Stolen Catalytic Converters In Eyota
Eyota, MN (KROC AM News) - There may be a break in the recent series of catalytic converter thefts in the Rochester area.
A Rochester man was arrested Wednesday after being caught with several of the devices.
An Olmsted County deputy spotted a suspicious pickup truck at Dahl Trucks in Eyota around 5:30 Wednesday morning. He followed the truck to the nearby Kwik Trip store and took the driver into custody after spotting some catalytic converters in the cab.
A total of 8 of the devices were recovered.
Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says three had been removed from trucks at Dahl’s. He suspects the others came from RVs at a Rochester storage business that were reported missing Wednesday afternoon.
Behrns says the suspect - 60-year-old Keith Wilcox - had been on the radar of investigators and they’re trying to see if he can be linked to any of the other thefts reported in recent weeks.
News update: Serious wreck in rural Mower County.
